Excess property continues to aid fight against pandemic
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Forces battling the pandemic have much to be thankful for this year as Defense Logistics Agency employees at DLA Disposition Services locations across the country have transferred almost $36.8 million worth of excess military items to service members and first responders working to stop the coronavirus spread and help those already afflicted.

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — In early August, Defense Logistics Agency’s headquarters acquisition team requested DLA Distribution’s assistance with support in executing an end of year inventory of strategic materials stored at the DLA Strategic Materials warehouses in Scotia, New York, and Hammond, Indiana. In line with DLA’s “Always Accountable” strategic goal, the inventory must be accurate to ensure DOD’s financial statements reflect the actual organizational expenses.
