New leader takes helm of DLA Aviation at Oklahoma City

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Oklahoma City team welcomed their new commander during a change of command ceremony June 6 at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. Air Force Brig. Gen. Sean Tyler, DLA Aviation commander, oversaw the ceremony where Air Force Lt. Col. Katrina Smith took charge of the DLA Aviation industrial support activity from Air Force Col. Robert Magee.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Sean Tyler spent two days meeting those who support the warfighters at DLA Aviation at Warner Robins, Georgia, Sept. 7 and 8. DLA Aviation at Warner Robins Commander Air Force Col. Brian Mayer hosted Tyler during his visit.

One of the more challenging tasks for the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation teams supporting the Air Force industrial customers at the retail industrial sites is determining what materials to have on hand, quantities to stock, timelines of the requirement and ensuring demand and supply planning factors within DLA business systems are postured to maintain procurement pipelines for items with consistent demands.
