The Native American/Alaskan Native Employment Program has announced the winner of the 2021 Rock Your Mocs contest is Steven Zimmer. Zimmer is a resolution specialist with Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime's Maritime Supplier Operations directorate.

DSCC firemen make cameo in latest fitness center video

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Defense Supply Center Columbus Morale, Welfare and Recreation Center’s staff have worked tirelessly to stay engaged with customers and develop meaningful content during the COVID-19 pandemic. WOW! Workout Wednesdays launched last month and features short, weekly workout videos that can be combined or repeated to create personalized workouts for any fitness level.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Since 1981, October has been National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The observance serves to educate communities, individuals, couples and families about the Family Advocacy Program services and other community resources that can help prevent domestic violence, raise awareness of community responsibility, and inform the community of the many ways to report domestic abuse.

Hispanic Employment Program kicks off monthlong observance with employee spotlights

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Hispanic Employment Program is highlighting several Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime employees throughout its monthlong observance of Hispanic Heritage Month Sept. 15- Oct. 15. This week, the program will feature Frances R. Quinones, an inventory management specialist for DLA Land and Maritime’s Industrial Hardware Team.

DSCC plants saplings at MWR Sports Park

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Defense Supply Center Columbus Installation Management Team planted 50 tree saplings at the DSCC MWR Sports Park this summer. The saplings were donated through an Urban Tree Project partnership in consult with the City of Columbus and the Urban Tree Master Plan Project to identify sites for potential tree plantings and expand the city’s existing tree canopy.

DLA Land and Maritime celebrates Asian American, Pacific Islander Heritage Month

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Each May we celebrate and honor the contributions that Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders have made and the part they have played in the history of this country. The month of May was selected to coincide and commemorate two important milestones in AAPI history: the arrival of the first Japanese immigrants in the United States and contributions of Chinese workers to the building of the transcontinental railroad.
