Texas firefighters use fleet addition from DLA to control wildfire

The Marlin Volunteer Fire Department was recently called out to what became the 96-acre Rice Road Fire. Its new military truck acquired from Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services was instrumental in helping the department fight a six-hour battle alongside other area fire departments and Texas A&M Forest Service.

Coast Guard Training Center gets energy savings contract

A DLA Energy Savings Performance Contract will add energy resiliency and reduce reliance on the power grid for a northern California U.S. Coast Guard Training Center. TRACEN Petaluma will implement six energy conservation measures across the 837-acre campus to reduce its electric load and increase the on-base distribution system reliability.

Clothing and Textiles helps Army get new female improved hot weather uniforms to recruits

Extensive coordination enabled the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support to help the Army field female improved hot weather uniforms to new recruits at training centers across the country. Approximately 1,600 sets of the female IHWCU coats and trousers have been issued at the RTCs, with Fort Benning and Fort Sill receiving sets in mid-August, Fort Leonard Wood in September, and Fort Jackson early October.
