DSCR employees adopt 113 angels from Chesterfield County and Richmond City Public Schools
RICHMOND, Va. — There was an air of excitement on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, at the Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond’s fire station Dec. 8 as employees drove through the fire truck bay dropping off gifts for the 113 angels adopted from Chesterfield County and Richmond City Public Schools.

DLA Aviation and Ft. Lee military celebrate Veterans Day with local veterans
Richmond, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation military members from Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, and students from the Army Logistics University’s Basic Officer Leadership Course and the Army Instructor Training Course from Fort Lee, came together to visit veterans at local facilities in Hopewell on Nov. 9 and Nov. 11. The visit was to honor and remember the former and current veterans for their sacrifices in preserving our freedoms. The group visited and presented certificates to 15 veteran residents at Gentiva Hospice Center’s River View on the Appomattox facility.

Ceremony marks last steel beam to frame new Aviation Ops Center
Richmond, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Commander Brig. Gen. Allan Day participated in a topping off ceremony Nov. 3, as the last structural beam to be placed on Phase I of the new DLA Aviation Operations Center at Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, was signed. Hensel Phelps, the contractor constructing the building, along with representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Norfolk District, and DLA Installation Support at Richmond, were also at the event, which marked a milestone in the ongoing construction project, which officially began Oct. 15, 2015, in a ground breaking ceremony.
