Aviation employees welcome new DLA Aviation at Ogden commander

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation employees, Air Force customers, friends and family, all gathered July 20 to bid farewell to Air Force Col. Daniel Lockert, who has commanded DLA Aviation at Ogden for the last three years and to welcome Air Force Col. Paul Smith, as the new commander.

Aviation buyers use reverse auctioning to save taxpayer money

More than 50 people attended one of three Defense Logistics Agency Aviation reverse auctions training sessions held in the McKeever Auditorium on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, July 19. Dozens more from around the DLA Enterprise caught the training via video teleconferencing.

A Tinker Air Force Base commander moved up in the ranks at a ceremony held July 11 in the Tinker Club. Lt. Col. James Malec, commander of the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Oklahoma, was promoted to colonel and recognized for his accomplishments.

In the coming days, the DLA homepage will feature an article about each new member — beginning with the late Lillie Mae Brown, whose achievements fighting for civil rights led to greater opportunities for many others across the agency.
