India, U.S. fuel agreement operational

Strengthening military partnerships, DLA Energy established a long-term fuel agreement between the U.S. Defense Department and India Ministry of Defence. The agreement became operational June 1 and enables reciprocal fuel sales and purchases, increased Indian military participation with U.S. military exercises, and easier accounting and reporting of fuel transactions.

DLA Energy Europe and Africa changes leadership

In a time-honored tradition, DLA Energy Europe & Africa Commander Army Lt. Col. Donna Welch transferred her authority and responsibility during a virtual change of command ceremony on Kleber-Kaserne, Germany, June 4. Incoming Commander Army Lt. Col. Benverren Fortune joins the DLA Energy team from DLA Troop Support Europe & Africa, where he served as Operations Officer since 2019.

Agency realignment improves fuel infrastructure support

Building on the DLA fuel facilities sustainment realignment plan, DLA Energy is finding new ways to streamline processes and better align responsibilities to save money and improve customer support. The 2020 realignment plan merges fuels sustainment, restoration and modernization program management and technical expertise under one command and control umbrella.

New DLA Energy deputy commander announced

DLA Director Navy Vice Adm. Michelle Skubic announced the selection of David Kless to serve as the DLA Energy Deputy Commander. Since February 2018, Kless has served as the Executive Director, Operations and Sustainment, DLA Logistics Operations (J-3).

DLA Energy supports Northern Edge 21 exercise

DLA Energy Americas North provided fuel solutions for Air Force and Marine Corps units operating at remote Alaskan sites during exercise Northern Edge 21, May 3-17. NE21 is a U.S. Indo-Pacific Command exercise designed to provide war fighter training, test joint interoperability, and enhance the combat readiness of participating forces while utilizing Alaska's strategic location.
