DLA Troop Support bids farewell to two retiring civilians

The Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support bid farewell to two civilian employees during a retirement ceremony November 25 in Philadelphia. Sheila Taylor, from Military Personnel, retired after 36 years of service. Carolyn Dempsey, who worked in the Subsistence supply chain, retired after serving 31 years.

Defense Logistics Agency delivers a “taste of home” to warfighters around the world

Warfighters around the world get to taste a home-cooked meal on Thanksgiving thanks to the efforts of Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Subsistence supply chain employees. The preparation for the troops’ holiday meal starts as early as April. Many ingredients for the meals are on hand at prime vendor locations by September, and the overseas locations start receiving high-volume items, like the turkeys and more than 131 tons of trimmings, in October.

Commander strengthens partnerships in the Middle East

DLA Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Albert Miller commended regional employees and conducted outreach during a visit to the Middle East, Oct. 20-25. Miller met with U.S. leaders and ally partners in Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Kuwait.

Senior Counsel inducted into Energy Hall of Fame

Known for her ability to break out in song and perform as one of the Andrews Sisters, Kay Bushman broke the mold of a straitlaced office lawyer. A methodical leader, masterful negotiator, talented mediator and trusted mentor, Bushman joined the elite group of former DLA Energy employees in the DLA Energy Hall of Fame during an induction ceremony at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Nov. 13.

Troop Support “stands down” for safety, resiliency

Employees from the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support were educated on warning signs of stress overload and ways to balance work and personal life during a “Safety Stand Down” event Nov. 21 in Philadelphia. Throughout the day, employees had opportunities to attend a presentation from DLA Chaplain Army Col. Robert Wichman, speak one-on-one with him and participate in discussions focused on safety and resilience.
