DLA Richmond Fire and Emergency Services ranked among the best departments in the country

Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond’s Fire and Emergency Services is among the top departments in the country. The Commission on Fire Accreditation International unanimously recommended the department for accreditation through the Center for Public Safety Excellence after a hearing Aug. 9, in Atlanta, Georgia.

DLA Director Army Lt. Gen. Darrell K. Williams praised the Energy workforce during a town hall event at the McNamara Headquarters Complex at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Aug. 12, saying, “I have been here for two years and the longer I am, the greater my appreciation for this phenomenal team. During the U.S. Army Reserve’s 2019 Quartermaster Liquid Logistics Exercise at Fort Dix, New Jersey, July 22-31, DLA Energy experts shadowed Army Reserve fuel handlers, transporters, and laboratory specialists as they demonstrated their skills in real-world fuel support using military fuel tankers to transfer the DLA Energy-capitalized bulk petroleum products from Defense Fuel Support Points to DoD installations across the nation.

RICHMOND, VA — Defense Logistics Agency Joint Reserve Force is headquartered at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. According to its webpage, more than 670 reservists - soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines – are assigned to nearly every DLA organization across the United States, including Hawaii, and Europe.
