DLA Aviation commander holds first Richmond town hall

RICHMOND, VA — Roughly a thousand people packed the Frank P. Lotts Conference Center on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, as Defense Logistics Agency Aviation Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. David Sanford held a town hall Oct. 1. This was his first time addressing a mass gathering of the workforce since taking command in July.

Supporting the forces in Arctic exercise

Operating in an Arctic environment requires planning and preparation for the harsh conditions, extreme cold temperatures and often limited resources. During the 2019 Arctic Expeditionary Capabilities Exercise in the Aleutian Islands, South Central Alaska and Southern California, Sept. 15-24, fuel quality assurance and technical support were the focus for DLA Energy.

DSCR employees help clean up along James River

RICHMOND, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency employees from Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, participated in the James River Regional Cleanup hosted by the James River Advisory Council Sep. 14 at Falling Creek Ironworks Park in North Chesterfield County. The river clean-up, which resulted in the collecting of more than 100 bags of trash, was part of a larger initiative sponsored by the James River Advisory Council that included similar activities throughout seventeen locations around the state of Virginia.

Gen. David Sanford, as well as other senior leaders.
