DLA Aviation keeping 'the Bone' soaring for decades to come

RICHMOND, VA — In 1985, Ronald Reagan was sworn in for a second term as president of the United States, Windows 1.0 was released, and the likes of Tears for Fears, Wham! and Chaka Khan ruled the airwaves.“Back to the Future,” “The Color Purple” and “St. Elmo’s Fire” ruled the big screen. And the United States Air Force began flying the B-1B Lancer, a long-range, multi-role, heavy bomber.

DLA Aviation awards May and June EOM recipients

RICHMOND, Virginia — The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation's May Employee of the Month is Keith McEachern, inter-continental ballistic missiles weapon system support manager for DLA Aviation’s Customer Operations Directorate in Richmond, Virginia, and the June EOM is Shante’l Wyche, an acquisition specialist in DLA Aviation’s Supplier Operations Commodities Directorate.

Defense Logistics Agency Aviation and Defense Supply Center Richmond Commander, Air Force Brig. Gen. Allan Day greets Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe and the Adjutant General of Virginia, Maj. Gen. Virginia National Guard breaks ground for new headquarters at Defense Supply Center Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. — Under a blazing sun and the high heat of a typical late summer day in Virginia, military and government leaders broke ground for the Virginia National Guard headquarters building at the Defense Supply Center Richmond August 17.

DLA Energy Pacific’s Army Master Sgt. Richmond, Va. — Why do we do what we do? Obviously supporting our families and preparing for our future and retirement are motivations for many of us. I have two daughters in college, so I know how important that paycheck is. But that is not why I work at the Defense Logistics Agency.
