PACIFIC OCEAN (July 29, 2016) – Sailors assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG 86) conduct an underway replenishment with the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Rappahannock (T-AO 204), during Rim of the Pacific 2016. Twenty-six nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 30 to Aug. 4, in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans. RIMPAC 2016 is the 25th exercise in the series that began in 1971.

Biofuel propels Rim of the Pacific exercise

PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii — Biofuel made from waste beef fat propelled ships and aircraft during the biennial Rim of the Pacific exercise around the Hawaiian Islands June 30 through Aug. 4.

DLA jacks, masters of all trades help DLA Aviation, tenants move

RICHMOND, Virginia — There are nearly 3,000 employees working on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, and all of them rely on a small group of divisions known as Defense Logistics Agency Installation Support at Richmond. The seven divisions of installation support provide more than 70 services that touch employees every day directly or indirectly.

Andy Busch took advantage of extensive opportunities for engagement with service and industry partners, as well as with the DLA workforce, during a one-day trip to Richmond, Virginia, July 29. If one central theme emerged from all of the events, it was the importance of relationships.

Richmond, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency’s Company Grade Officer of the Quarter for the 2nd quarter fiscal 2016, is DLA Aviation’s Air Force Capt. Broderick Morris, who is the B-2 weapons system program manager currently assigned to the Air Force Customer Facing Division in the Customer Operations Directorate. Morris was nominated and selected for his performance while deployed as a member of the DLA Support Team –Kuwait from January to March 2016.
