National EMS Week Spotlight: Chris Abraham

Richmond, Va. — National Emergency Medical Technician Week will be celebrated May 16 – 22. This year’s theme is “This Is EMS: Caring for Our Communities.” According to the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians website, in 1974 President Gerald Ford authorized Emergency Medical Services Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation's communities.

Agile acquisition response keeps C-130s in the air

Richmond, Va. — Resolving aircraft safety issues is a time-sensitive mission affecting a number of agencies, and when a critical part was needed to repair C-130 Hercules aircraft, Defense Logistics Agency Aviation collaborated with other groups to ensure parts were available six weeks ahead of schedule.

The fill stands and pump stations on Anderson Air Force Base, Guam, look shiny and new after receiving restorative coatings. The project is just a small part of an ongoing effort to protect vital fuel systems from the corrosion that pervades infrastructure on the tropical island. Preparing to take command

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — Seven prospective DLA Energy commanding officers and two departing commanders participated in a pre-command orientation at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, May 6-7. With seven regional change of commands scheduled for June and July, the two-day course is designed to prepare commanders for their role and responsibilities as fuel providers to Combatant Commanders.
