DLA director meets Richmond-based employees, praises commitment to mission

Richmond, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency Director Navy Vice Adm. Michelle Skubic visited Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, April 16 for the first time since she became director of the enterprise in July. She previously headed supplier operations for DLA Aviation from August 2008 to August 2011.

DLA Energy supports National Reconnaissance Office rocket launch

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. — A Delta IV Heavy rocket carrying a national security payload designed, built, and operated by the National Reconnaissance Office launched from Space Launch Complex-6 at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California April 26. DLA Energy supplied the liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen that powered the three United Launch Alliance rocket engines creating a combined total of more than 2.1 million pounds of thrust needed for liftoff.

Defense fuel support at Craney Island

NORFOLK, Va. — DLA Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Jimmy Canlas visited fuel facilities at NAVSUP FLC Norfolk Craney Island in Virginia, April 15. A significant asset in the DLA Energy Americas East supply chain, Craney Island issues over 750 million gallons of military specification fuel to Navy and DOD customers every year.
