Propelling satellites in to space

Propelled with DLA Energy-supplied high purity hydrazine, the United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, Aug. 8. Approximately 2,600 pounds of high purity hydrazine was supplied for the rocket launch and payload and 755 pounds of dinitrogen tetroxide for the payload to deploy the fifth U.S. Air Force Advanced Extremely High Frequency communications satellite.

During the U.S. Army Reserve’s 2019 Quartermaster Liquid Logistics Exercise at Fort Dix, New Jersey, July 22-31, DLA Energy experts shadowed Army Reserve fuel handlers, transporters, and laboratory specialists as they demonstrated their skills in real-world fuel support using military fuel tankers to transfer the DLA Energy-capitalized bulk petroleum products from Defense Fuel Support Points to DoD installations across the nation.
