MWR hosts HQC Halloween 5K Run/Walk for fun, fitness

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — More than 100 employees participated in the HQC Halloween 5K Run/Walk at the McNamara Headquarters Complex Nov. 5. The Morale, Welfare and Recreation Program office sponsored the zombie-themed event, which had been postponed from Oct. 28 due to inclement weather.

Crude oil pipes at Strategic Petroleum Reserve Bryan Mound site near Freeport, Texas. The SPR is the world’s largest supply of emergency crude oil. The federally-owned oil stocks are stored in huge underground salt caverns along the coastline of the Gulf of Mexico.

DoD priority placement program offers options for DLA Energy employees

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — If you have been a Defense Department employee for any amount of time, you’re probably familiar with the DoD Priority Placement Program. The program provides qualified DoD employees an opportunity to be placed in vacant DoD positions.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 20 people are physically victimized by an intimate partner in the United States every minute—more than 10 million women and men each year.
