DLA Energy announces second quarter awardees

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Energy recognized outstanding employees and teams for their performance during the second quarter of fiscal year 2017.

Australia and DLA Energy sign fuel exchange agreement

NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland — Australia and DLA Energy signed a new Fuel Exchange Agreement April 12 during the 2017 Worldwide Energy Conference at the Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center, National Harbor, Maryland.

NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland — Energy security, operational energy and energy diplomacy were the themes in a plenary session during the Worldwide Energy Conference held at the Gaylord National Hotel and Conference Center in National Harbor, Maryland, April 11.

DLA Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Martin Chapin presided at the DLA Energy Worldwide Energy Conference opening ceremony to a crowd of more than two thousand industry professionals gathered to refine future energy needs at the Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center Apr. 10.

NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland — The 2017 Defense Logistics Agency Energy Worldwide Energy Conference and Tradeshow opened at the Gaylord National Hotel and Conference Center in National Harbor, Maryland, April 10 with record attendance.

DFSP Charleston excels in surprise oil spill exercise

CHARLESTON, South Carolina — Defense Logistics Agency Energy’s Defense Fuel Support Point Charleston, South Carolina successfully passed a recent government-initiated unannounced exercise involving a hazardous material spill.

Army Sgt. Leon H. Bell in 1919, after returning from World War I, at the home of his half-sister Lassie and brother-in-law, F.E. Carroll, Park Street, Beaumont, Texas. The U.S. Army continued to issue this uniform into the early days of World War II. DLA Troop Support now supplies all uniforms to U.S. military service members.

DLA Energy commander attends ribbon-cutting ceremony at Tinker Air Force Base

Defense Logistics Agency Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Martin Chapin participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony with other senior officials for the Air Force’s largest energy savings performance contract at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, March 29.

As part of the Defense Fuel Support Point San Pedro closing procedures, contractors remove the JP-5 cross connect that connects the north side of the terminal to the south side of the terminal. After 37 years, the DFSP San Pedro government owned, government operated fuel facility is closing tanks to achieve infrastructure savings and reduce costs for the Department of Defense.
