Mission Complete: DFSP San Pedro closes last tank

SAN PEDRO, California — Tank 17, the last tank to be filled with foam crete and solidify, marks the milestone closure of 27 underground tanks at the U.S. Navy owned Defense Fuel Support Point in San Pedro, California, July 20.

Australia and DLA Energy sign fuel exchange agreement

NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland — Australia and DLA Energy signed a new Fuel Exchange Agreement April 12 during the 2017 Worldwide Energy Conference at the Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center, National Harbor, Maryland.

DLA Energy contracted 25 fuel trucks in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Incident Support Base at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, Georgia, to support anticipated Hurricane Matthew relief operations.The trucks brought more than 123,000 gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel to MCLB Albany Oct. 6.

DLA Energy provides fuel support to Hurricane Matthew relief

Defense Logistics Agency Energy is providing essential fuel support to the Federal Emergency Management Agency in response to ongoing Hurricane Matthew relief operations in the United States and Haiti.

Fueling the mission

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Peterson Air Force Base website — Even with a primarily space-based mission, the operations tempo on Peterson’s flightline is high and the second busiest in the Air Force for distinguished visitors. The Defense Logistics Agency’s Olgoonik Technical Services fuels contract for the 21st logistics Readiness Squadron, is up for the challenge of keeping up with the fast pace.

Americas at San Pedro personnel demonstrate resiliency

LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, Arizona — Defense Logistics Agency Energy Americas at San Pedro, California, employees showed effective distribution management during a supply chain disruption and demonstrated resiliency in the Jet A aviation fuel supply chain at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona.

PACIFIC OCEAN (July 29, 2016) – Sailors assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG 86) conduct an underway replenishment with the Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Rappahannock (T-AO 204), during Rim of the Pacific 2016. Twenty-six nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 30 to Aug. 4, in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain the cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans. RIMPAC 2016 is the 25th exercise in the series that began in 1971.

Biofuel propels Rim of the Pacific exercise

PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii — Biofuel made from waste beef fat propelled ships and aircraft during the biennial Rim of the Pacific exercise around the Hawaiian Islands June 30 through Aug. 4.

The Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star cuts a channel into a field of fast ice in McMurdo Sound, Antarctica, Jan. 7, 2016. During Operation Deep Freeze 2016, the U.S. military's logistical support to the National Science Foundation-managed U.S. Antarctic Program, the Polar Star's mission is to create a navigable channel to McMurdo Station for several resupply vessels.

Annual Operation Deep Freeze delivers fuel to Antarctica

MCMURDO STATION, Antarctica — Defense Logistics Agency Energy continued its annual support of Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica with this year’s delivery of fuel.

A contract carrier is being fueled at the Fort Wainwright aviation fuel facility after delivering 120 fire fighters from North Carolina and Virginia to help fight fires in interior Alaska. The Fort Wainwright aviation fuel facility is one of nine different bases throughout Alaska that DLA Energy Pacific supplies fuel to on a monthly basis.
