NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland — Celebrating 51 years of excellence in fuels management operation and fuel handling, the 2017 Department of Defense Fuels Awards Ceremony took place at the Gaylord National Hotel and Conference Center in National Harbor, Maryland, April 11.

DLA Energy commander hosts WWEC plenary session

NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland — Energy security, operational energy and energy diplomacy were the themes in a plenary session during the Worldwide Energy Conference held at the Gaylord National Hotel and Conference Center in National Harbor, Maryland, April 11.

DLA Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Martin Chapin presided at the DLA Energy Worldwide Energy Conference opening ceremony to a crowd of more than two thousand industry professionals gathered to refine future energy needs at the Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center Apr. 10.

NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland — The 2017 Defense Logistics Agency Energy Worldwide Energy Conference and Tradeshow opened at the Gaylord National Hotel and Conference Center in National Harbor, Maryland, April 10 with record attendance.

DFSP Charleston excels in surprise oil spill exercise

CHARLESTON, South Carolina — Defense Logistics Agency Energy’s Defense Fuel Support Point Charleston, South Carolina successfully passed a recent government-initiated unannounced exercise involving a hazardous material spill.

DLA Energy commander attends ribbon-cutting ceremony at Tinker Air Force Base

Defense Logistics Agency Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Martin Chapin participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony with other senior officials for the Air Force’s largest energy savings performance contract at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, March 29.

Patricia Littlejohn currently serves as DLA Energy Bulk Petroleum Supply Chain Services division chief. After serving eight years in the U.S. Army, she transitioned into the civilian workforce with DLA Energy as an office automation clerk.

Celebrating Trailblazing Women

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — The Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics and Materiel Readiness Kristin French was the guest speaker for the Defense Logistics Agency Women’s History Month celebration in the McNamara Headquarters Complex at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, March 15.

As part of the Defense Fuel Support Point San Pedro closing procedures, contractors remove the JP-5 cross connect that connects the north side of the terminal to the south side of the terminal. After 37 years, the DFSP San Pedro government owned, government operated fuel facility is closing tanks to achieve infrastructure savings and reduce costs for the Department of Defense.

DFSP San Pedro closes fuel tanks

SAN PEDRO, California — Defense Logistics Agency Energy is one-step closer to shutting down 27 World War II underground storage tanks at the U.S. Navy owned Defense Fuel Support Point in San Pedro, California.

DLA Energy recently awarded a contract for a 28.2 megawatt on-site solar energy production facility at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — Defense Logistics Agency Energy continues to provide comprehensive energy solutions to the military services by awarding its largest solar energy contract for the U.S. Air Force.
