QARS perform internal tank inspection at sea

DLA Energy Middle East Quality Assurance Representatives Mark Mizrahi and Army Sgt. 1st Class Elizabeth Grace received hands on training when they conducted an internal tank inspection of the oil tanker LEFKARA on April 9.

DLA Energy supports National Reconnaissance Office rocket launch

A Delta IV Heavy rocket carrying a national security payload designed, built, and operated by the National Reconnaissance Office launched from Space Launch Complex-6 at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California April 26. DLA Energy supplied the liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen that powered the three United Launch Alliance rocket engines creating a combined total of more than 2.1 million pounds of thrust needed for liftoff.

Defense fuel support at Craney Island

DLA Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Jimmy Canlas visited fuel facilities at NAVSUP FLC Norfolk Craney Island in Virginia, April 15. A significant asset in the DLA Energy Americas East supply chain, Craney Island issues over 750 million gallons of military specification fuel to Navy and DOD customers every year.

New Romanian fuel agreement strengthens military cooperation

Improving interoperability between military forces across the world, DLA Energy signed a new Fuel Implementing Arrangement with Romania Jan. 19. This first-ever fuel agreement with Romania establishes the terms and conditions for reciprocal fuel sales and purchases between U.S. Defense Department and Romania Ministry of National Defence forces.

The island of Guam’s breezes, salt air and tropical climate is a paradise, but for fuel infrastructure on Andersen Air Force Base it’s a destructive mix. Defense Logistics Agency Energy is taking a proactive preventative approach to stay on top of the island’s corrosive environment and maintain vital fuel systems.
