DLA Energy commander’s final townhall highlights new leadership, agency accomplishments

Defense Logistics Agency Energy Commander Navy Rear Adm. George Bresnihan and DLA Energy Deputy Commander Emily Vogeler addressed employees in a town hall meeting at the McNamara Headquarters Complex on Aug. 20. This meeting’s theme centered around leadership changes, the fiscal 2027 strategy, audits, the Defense Performance Management and Appraisal Program, the Agency Transformation Center and digital readiness. This is Bresnihan’s last town hall meeting as DLA Energy commander before the DLA Energy change of command and Bresnihan’s retirement on Sept. 3.

DLA Energy establishes new fuel support arrangement with Australia to fortify Pacific readiness

The Defense Logistics Agency Energy further solidified its commitment to strengthening allied partnerships by establishing a new fuel support arrangement with the Australian Fuel Capability Branch. Both the DLA Energy Commander Rear Adm. George Bresnihan and Australian Brigadier Mark Baldock, director general of Fuel Capabilities both signed the agreement, which is effective as of Aug. 1, 2026.

First Praise and Worship Event promotes community connection and spiritual refreshment

Since 2018, employees of Defense Logistics Agency participate in a weekly bible study group, yet the Praise and Worship Event on Aug. 4 marked an occasion that many hope will become a recurring tradition. The Bible study group hosted the Praise and Worship Event at the Kabeisman Conference Room in the McNamara Headquarters Complex, allowing participants to gather and worship in their faith tradition. As attendees entered the room, they were greeted warmly and were able to meet and fellowship with a varied group of people from all over the agency.

The Defense Logistics Agency Energy delivered a new turnkey system for transporting aviator’s oxygen to the 23rd Logistics Readiness Squadron at Moody Air Force Base, establishing a dedicated supply chain — a move prompted by pandemic-era shortages.
