Clothing & Textiles employees meet blind, visually impaired partners in warfighter support

PHILADELPHIA — Employees with the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Clothing and Textiles supply chain toured production lines at Vision Corps in Lancaster, Pennsylvania July 26, where blind or visually impaired individuals operate machinery or package item parts for military customers.

Engineers improve training center in Romania with DLA-provided materials

PHILADELPHIA — The MRO team at DLA Troop Support Europe and Africa provided stones, lumber, concrete and other materials used to improve the Joint National Training Center in Romania for Resolute Castle 2017, an exercise to strengthen NATO forces’ capability to train and respond to threats within the region.

2016 Employee of the Year sustains critical Air Force weapons systems

PHILADELPHIA — A contracting officer with the Industrial Hardware supply chain was named 2016 DLA Troop Support Employee of the Year and received the DLA Superior Civilian Service Award June 6 for her contributions to acquiring hardware for critical systems across the Air Force.

New commander emphasizes trust, discipline, commitment in first town hall

PHILADELPHIA — Army Col. Mark Simerly discussed the importance of trust, discipline and commitment during his first town hall as commander of DLA Troop Support.

Several Police Presence in a Box kits were transferred to Iraqi security forces July 3. The kits are the first of 100 that DLA Troop Support procured for Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve and will be transferred to ISF this summer. The kits include: a tent with a working space, furniture, lighting, water tanks, laptops, phones, GPS, weapons storage and checkpoint equipment.

PHILADELPHIA — On the verge of victory in Mosul, Iraqi security forces received police equipment that they’ll use to protect their citizens. The first Police Presence in a Box kits were transferred to Iraqi security forces July 3 during a ceremony in Baghdad.
