Photographer receives surprise recognition during awards ceremony

PHILADELPHIA — Several Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support employees received recognition for their service and accomplishments during a quarterly awards ceremony Jan. 19.

More than 5,000 military members from across all branches of the armed forces of the United States, including Reserve and National Guard components, provided ceremonial support and Defense Support of Civil Authorities during the inaugural period.

DLA supports presidential inauguration’s military participants

PHILADELPHIA — Many of the more than 5,000 service members participating in the 58th Presidential Inauguration ceremonies Jan. 20 will wear clothing items provided by DLA Troop Support.

DLA director emphasizes strategic goals at Troop Support town hall

PHILADELPHIA — The Defense Logistics Agency director said that while DLA Troop Support has done great work supporting the warfighter over more than 15 years of conflict in the Middle East, the strategic environment is changing.

Several members of DLA Troop Support’s Command Support Office contributed to a Continuous Process Improvement project to improve Defense Travel System compliance rates from 78 percent to 93 percent. From left, Hank Jansen served as the team coach, Elias Dungca served as the team sponsor, Jontell Platts served as a team member, Raymond Finch served as the project facilitator, Neil Kovnat served as the project champion, and Peter Stupak served as the team lead. Travel authorizations streamlined, DTS compliance rates improved

PHILADELPHIA — last minute, overseas mission was put into jeopardy earlier this year due to errors in employees’ Defense Travel System accounts. Scenarios like this caused two Troop Support employees to peak under the hood of DTS to find out why and fix it.

DLA, DHA save millions on military medical materiel through ECAT

PHILADELPHIA — Anyone who has been in a big-box retailer knows two-gallon buckets of mayonnaise have lower per-unit prices than 20-ounce jars. It’s just basic bulk purchasing power at work. And as interagency collaboration within DOD is proving, it applies to more than just condiments.

Subsistence field rep, who helped introduce DoD school produce program, retires

PHILADELPHIA — Russ Brooks noticed in the early 1990s that poor quality produce was being served in the Denver public schools. He later helped user in the DOD Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program to provide produce to schools.

Soldiers enjoy Christmas dinner in Cameroon Dec. 25 with food provided by DLA Troop Support's Subsistence supply chain. U.S. service members are serving in Cameroon to enhance the capability of partner nation militaries like the Cameroonian Defense Force to promote regional security and stability.
