More than a dozen "DSR University" training sessions in Battle Creek July 23-25 will help the agency's front-line disposal specialists provide world-class support to warfighters at sites around the world.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Disposal Services Representatives work directly with warfighters on property turn in. They have congregated in Michigan to help refine their role and plot their future.

The annual two-week training teams agency military and civilian expeditionary personnel to support real-world military units and government customers while building field skills to bring disposal support directly to the warfighter.

Excess military computers go to school in Texas

The technology director at the school district in Mart, Texas, has put military hardware into the hands of all his high schools students, thanks to DLA Disposition Services and its DOD Computers for learning program.

Tour showcases agency support for deployed forces

Bagram, Afghanistan — Two incoming commanders were shown how the Defense Logistics Agency supports their forces during a recent tour at Bagram, Afghanistan.

One of the four 20 by 30 foot wall tents the US Forest Service obtained from DLA Disposition Services offers housing for the Youth Conservation Corps at the Coronado National Forest in southern Arizona.

Excess tents offer new shelter for teens in youth program

Coronado National Forest — Tents provided by DLA Disposition Services’ Reutilization, Transfer and Donation Program are now keeping a new educational program going in the Coronado National Forest in southern Arizona.

New commander serves as face of DLA support to EUCOM, AFRICOM

KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany — Army Col. Krista Hoffman, new Defense Logistics Agency Europe & Africa commander, will serve as the entry point for DLA’s warfighter support to U.S. European Command and U.S. Africa Command.

Excess equipment helps deputies battle the elements

Duplin County, North Carolina — Not far from Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune lies a county where the sheriff's deputies there also train to serve in "every clime" like their Marine neighbors with some help from the excess military vehicles and equipment they obtain with help from the Defense Logistics Agency.

Property Disposal Specialist Parry Miller guides the construction of a mobile command and control shelter at Camp Bondsteel in Kosovo. Miller will serve as the disposal site lead for two weeks as a DLA Disposition Services team torches, shreds and removes broken down equipment the U.S. Army has accumulated during its peacekeeping mission there.

Mobile disposal site deploys for first time

CAMP BONDSTEEL, KOSOVO — An agency property disposal team has set up temporary shop at Kosovo’s Camp Bondsteel to help the 20-year-old base rid itself of defunct and decrepit equipment.
