Second DLA ball promotes pomp, purpose, people

Darrell Williams, who often uses the phrase "the secret sauce of warfighter support" as a description of DLA’s people, invited friends, family members, former DLA employees and dignitaries to enjoy an evening of entertainment, history, fanfare and military traditions during the second annual DLA Ball, Nov. 1. Special guests included guest speaker, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment Robert McMahon and his wife, Hope, along with Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment Ellen Lord, and her husband, Geoff.

Former retail leader teaches lessons in supply chain management
Fort Belvoir, Virginia — During an Oct. 30 professional-development session on supply-chain management at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, Defense Logistics Agency Director Army Lt. Gen. Darrell Williams hosted Chris Sultemeier, former president and CEO of Walmart Transportation and later, executive vice president of logistics for Walmart Stores. Sultemeier relayed stories and advice from his 30-year career spanning military service and the private sector to leaders of DLA headquarters organizations and major subordinate commands.
