DLA Distribution Yokosuka aids USS Fitzgerald after tragedy strikes

YOKOSUKA, Japan — DLA Distribution Yokosuka, Japan, has been working to move critical supplies to support the USS Fitzgerald after a deadly crash that left seven sailors dead and major damage to the destroyer.

DLA Distribution Norfolk, Virginia, commander Navy Supply Corps Capt. Andrew Matthews and former DLA Distribution commander Navy Capt. Harry Thetford met with customers and several junior naval officers during a trip to Naval Submarine Base New London, Connecticut.

Distribution Norfolk leadership visits SUBASE New London

NEW LONDON, Connecticut — Prior to taking command earlier this month, DLA Distribution Norfolk, Virginia, commander Navy Supply Corps Capt. Andrew Matthews stopped by Naval Submarine Base New London, Connecticut, to meet with on-site customers as well as to mentor several young naval officers.

An M1A1 Abrams fires on targets as part of Getica Saber 2017 at the Joint National Training Center, Cincu, Romania. DLA-provided materials such as stones, concrete and lumber were used for projects to improve the JNTC during Resolute Castle 2017, an exercise to strengthen NATO forces’ capability to train and respond to threats within the region.

Engineers improve training center in Romania with DLA-provided materials

PHILADELPHIA — The MRO team at DLA Troop Support Europe and Africa provided stones, lumber, concrete and other materials used to improve the Joint National Training Center in Romania for Resolute Castle 2017, an exercise to strengthen NATO forces’ capability to train and respond to threats within the region.
