Agency’s 8th director to be inducted into 2020 DLA Hall of Fame
FORT BELVOIR, Va. — Former Defense Logistics Agency Director Army Lt. Gen. Donald Babers, who led the agency through rapid growth in material management and contract administration from 1984 to 1986, is among nine inductees into the 2020 DLA Hall of Fame.

Agency realignment improves fuel infrastructure support
Building on the DLA fuel facilities sustainment realignment plan, DLA Energy is finding new ways to streamline processes and better align responsibilities to save money and improve customer support. The 2020 realignment plan merges fuels sustainment, restoration and modernization program management and technical expertise under one command and control umbrella.

DLA now the sole provider for printing AND office devices in DOD
FORT BELVOIR, Va. — The Defense Logistics Agency, already the designated sole provider of Department of Defense printing services, expanded its mission to include office print devices. In a directive signed by the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment last month, DLA will now procure, deliver and sustain all office devices for DOD. This includes office, desktop and stand-alone printers. It also includes copiers, fax machines, scanners and multi-function devices.

DOD warehouse utilization project aims to increase use of storage space, save millions
FORT BELVOIR, Va. — New technology being tested at select facilities throughout the Defense Department is generating data on warehouse capacity and unused storage space that could lead to warehouse consolidations or reorganizations, putting material closer to users to support more efficient operations and saving an estimated $600 million.
New DLA Energy deputy commander announced
FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — DLA Director Navy Vice Adm. Michelle Skubic announced the selection of David Kless to serve as the DLA Energy Deputy Commander. Since February 2018, Kless has served as the Executive Director, Operations and Sustainment, DLA Logistics Operations (J-3).

Readiness, demand planning top agenda at Air Force-DLA Day
FORT BELVOIR, Va. — DLA and Air Force leaders discussed several collaborative issues such as readiness, demand planning and budget issues during Air Force-DLA Day May 24, the first service day DLA has hosted since November 2019.
