Agency’s 8th director to be inducted into 2020 DLA Hall of Fame 

Former Defense Logistics Agency Director Army Lt. Gen. Donald Babers, who led the agency through rapid growth in material management and contract administration from 1984 to 1986, is among nine inductees into the 2020 DLA Hall of Fame.

The DLA director and senior enlisted leader spoke to DLA reservists at the Joint Reserve Force Annual Leadership Review June 4. The event, held each year as a weekend-long training and career development exercise for reservist leaders, was conducted both in-person and virtually.

DLA now the sole provider for printing AND office devices in DOD

The Defense Logistics Agency, already the designated sole provider of Department of Defense printing services, expanded its mission to include office print devices. In a directive signed by the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment last month, DLA will now procure, deliver and sustain all office devices for DOD. This includes office, desktop and stand-alone printers. It also includes copiers, fax machines, scanners and multi-function devices.

DOD warehouse utilization project aims to increase use of storage space, save millions 

New technology being tested at select facilities throughout the Defense Department is generating data on warehouse capacity and unused storage space that could lead to warehouse consolidations or reorganizations, putting material closer to users to support more efficient operations and saving an estimated $600 million.

Customer Relationship Management team members throughout the Defense Logistics Agency are transitioning to a new service-management tool called ServiceNow that enables easier, more efficient handling of customer inquiries.
