Protecting Ohio waters this winter – be salt smart

Did you know that it only takes one teaspoon of road salt to permanently pollute five gallons of water to a level that is toxic for freshwater ecosystems? While salt application to roadways is a common practice for driver safety, the excess salt may pollute streams and lakes making it difficult for fish, frogs, mussels, insects and waterfowl to survive.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime celebrated Logistics Specialist 1st Class Chelsea Spicer on her recent acceptance to Navy Officer Candidate School Nov. 29. She will report to OCS at Naval Station Newport in Rhode Island in January to complete the 13-week course for commission as a supply corps officer.

DLA associate recognized with DOD disability award for outstanding contributions to agency

COLUMBUS, Ohio — “I didn’t think this could ever happen to me,” said Greg Ramsey, support agreement manager for Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management – Columbus, of being named one of the Defense Department’s outstanding employees with a disability for 2023.

Maritime Supplier Operations’ Spinacher cruises to victory at Navy Birthday Cardboard Regatta

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Smooth paddling by 'Popeye' and 'Olive Oyl' propelled the Spinacher to victory at the annual Navy Cardboard Regatta Oct. 11 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus Eagle Eye Golf Course pond. The boat race was hosted by Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime to celebrate the Navy’s 248th birthday.
