Tutors, forward-deployed reps recognized at awards ceremony

Are you ready? Take part in America’s PrepareAthon!

PHILADEPHIA — In the spirit of resiliency, DLA Troop Support is encouraging employees to take part in America's PrepareAthon! The FEMA campaign is a grassroots movement for action to increase community preparedness and resilience.

Local logisticians went to school Sept. 21 on a tool to help them track where their stuff is. The training included how to run queries for materials in transit to customers around the world through the Integrated Data Environment/Global Transition Network Convergence program.

Field rep uses ‘melon’ to provide DLA customers with fresh produce

PHILADELPHIA — Joseph Miler once held the record at the Kentucky State Fair for growing the largest watermelon. But Miller doesn’t use his produce expertise just to set records. He also uses it to support the warfighter and other customers as a Subsistence field rep.

Paul Zebrowski cited rebuilding the DLA Troop Support Clothing and Textiles industrial base as the most difficult challenge he faced in his 34 years with the agency.

Troop Support’s ‘dream team’ saves big on drugs

PHILADELPHIA — The Medical supply chain's national contracts team has churned out hundreds of millions of dollars in savings through long-term contracts for generic drugs, while ensuring drug availability for customers.

PHILADELPHIA — Nothing meant more in captivity than seeing the American flag, a former prisoner of war said about his experience during a POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony Sept.15 at NSA Philadelphia.

NPM event focuses on workplace preparedness

PHILADELPHIA — It is important to be prepared for an emergency because you never know when a disaster will strike, an emergency management officer said at DLA Troop Support’s annual National Preparedness Month event Sept. 8

Students enjoy fresh produce provided through the Department of Defense Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. The program allows schools to order fresh produce from DLA Troop Support’s Subsistence supply chain using U.S. Department of Agriculture entitlement funds.

Philadelphia — As another school year starts, DLA Troop Support is set to provide fresh produce for students at approximately 12,000 schools throughout the U.S. In a partnership with the USDA, Subsistence provides produce to schools in 48 states.

Chaplain talks life after combat during PTSD workshop

PHILADELPHIA — A Pennsylvania Army National Guard chaplain spoke to Troop Support employees to help them better understand PTSD during a workshop Aug. 25. “I think everyone who has been to combat comes back different,” said Lt. Col. Douglas Etter.
