DSCC plants saplings at MWR Sports Park

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Defense Supply Center Columbus Installation Management Team planted 50 tree saplings at the DSCC MWR Sports Park this summer. The saplings were donated through an Urban Tree Project partnership in consult with the City of Columbus and the Urban Tree Master Plan Project to identify sites for potential tree plantings and expand the city’s existing tree canopy.

Aggressive contaminated groundwater cleanup efforts on DCSR discussed during RAB

RICHMOND, Va — For the first time in more than a year, community members could attend the Defense Logistics Agency Installation Management Richmond Environmental Cleanup Program’s quarterly Restoration Advisory Board meeting in person at the Bensley Community Center in Chesterfield County, Virginia, July 12. These meetings were held virtually since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020.

Land and Maritime Commander recognizes Ohio Army National Guard’s COVID-19 vaccination contributions

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime Commander Navy Rear Adm. Kristen Fabry recognized 11 Ohio Army National Guard members for their support to the Defense Supply Center Columbus’ recently concluded vaccination effort during a June 29 appreciation event. The OHARNG also provided the medical facility and staff required to administer the vaccine. Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and DLA partnered in the effort.

With their out-of-the-box strategies and dogged determination, Timothy Beveridge and Leslie Stanley are standout contributors to their respective lines of business. Beveridge was selected in the general schedule (GS) 10-13 category and Stanley was selected in the GS 1-9 category.

Richmond, Va. — Demolition of Building 33 on Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia, continues as part of Phase 2 for the Defense Logistics Aviation Operations Center. Destruction began earlier this year with most of it happening over the past month.
