In honor of Military Appreciation Month, the Defense Supply Center Columbus Morale, Welfare and Recreation’s annual Operation Cookie Drop distributes hundreds of cases of Girl Scout cookies donated by the Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland. The Girl Scouts distributed 1300 cases of cookies to about 5,600 service members from 32 units (large and small) throughout Ohio.
Defense Supply Center Columbus was named a Tree City USA for the fourth consecutive year at the annual Tree City USA Awards Presentation on April 21 in the Schnormeier Event Center in Ariel-Foundation Park in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. The all-day event was attended by representatives from 45 communities across 15 counties in Central Ohio.
The first Pinwheel Parade in two years stepped off from the Defense Supply Center Columbus’ Child Development Center April 26. DSCC Police, CDC staff and parents guided the children around the block and at the end of the parade planted pinwheels in front of the center.
Program managers for the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime’s Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program and Defense Supply Center Columbus’ Family Advocacy Program joined forces to host a combined Sip (Tea) ‘n Paint event to educate the defense federal community and provide resource materials on sexual violence and child abuse prevention topics.
