FORT BELVOIR, Va. — A “Day of Empowerment” training symposium hosted by the Defense Logistics Agency Energy Equal Employment Opportunity Office and the DLA Blacks in Government chapter was held in the McNamara Headquarter Complex, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Feb. 28.

DLA's participation in the WRP has almost tripled since 2015, from 38 to 100 slots.

WRP gives supervisors pool of qualified candidates to fill workforce gaps, build stronger teams

Of the 1,010 WRP interns the agency has temporarily hired since 1995, 128 have been permanently hired through the noncompetitive “Schedule A” authority or the agency’s Pathways to Career Excellence Program, a two-year program designed to train entry-level personnel for subsequent advancement.

Sexual assault response coordinators are available by phone every day, at any hour, to provide advocacy and crisis intervention.

The Pentagon Disability Awards Ceremony Oct. 5 honored the Defense Logistics Agency and Thomas Q. Comeans, a small business specialist at DLA Land and Maritime, for their achievements.

DLA group learns use of tools to ensure blind, visually impaired users have equal access

Defense Logistics Agency participants in a recent workshop learned to use special software to ensure blind and visually impaired users can read and navigate web pages easily.

The Workforce Recruitment Program brings college students and recent graduates with disabilities to DLA so the agency can benefit from their talent. Several WRP employees and those close to the program share their experiences with the program in a video.
