DLA Director Army Lt. Gen. Darrell K. Williams praised the Energy workforce during a town hall event at the McNamara Headquarters Complex at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Aug. 12, saying, “I have been here for two years and the longer I am, the greater my appreciation for this phenomenal team. I can’t think of another organization with a broader impact not only on DLA but also on the Department of Defense.”

Employees heed the call for blood donations

Battle Creek, Michigan — The call went out to employees – “Emergency Blood Shortage: Red Cross blood & platelet donors needed now” – and they responded by rolling up their sleeves for an Aug. 7 blood drive at the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center.

PHILADELPHIA — Army Lt. Col. Jimmy Baker, Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Medical supply chain’s Operational Customer Facing Division chief, retired after serving 30 years as both an enlisted soldier and a Medical Service Corps officer.

German national recognized for 35 years of service

Wolfgang Leis, a host nation employee, was recognized for his 35 years of service during a ceremony at the Ramstein Air Base, Germany, June 27. The Length of Service Award Presentation ceremony recognizes all host nation employees who have continuously served the U.S. Armed Forces for greater than 20 years.
