Distribution police officers honor National Police Week with ceremony

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — The Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Police Force hosted a wreath laying ceremony to pay tribute to local, state, and Federal peace officers who have died in the line of duty on May 15. Each year, our nation loses between 140-160 law enforcement officers in the line of duty.

Congressman Jeff Denham visits San Joaquin distribution center

TRACY, California — On May 11, Congressman Jeff Denham, U.S. House of Representatives, California 10th District, paid a visit to DLA Distribution San Joaquin, California. During his short visit, he took the opportunity to meet with the senior leadership of Distribution, Installation Support and the local union.

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma — Arthur Purnell, a material examiner and identifier for Central Receiving at DLA Distribution Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was named DLA Distribution Employee of the Quarter for the first quarter of fiscal year 2017.

Emily Fernandez, a distribution process worker at DLA Distribution Corpus Christi, Texas has been named DLA Distribution Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2016.

San Diego distribution center welcomes new commander

SAN DIEGO, California — United States Navy Capt. Jerome R. White assumed command of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution San Diego, California, on May 12 with a traditional Navy ceremony officiated by DLA Distribution commanding general Army. Brig. Gen. John S. Laskodi.

Since returning from her Defense Logistics Agency Support Team-Kuwait deployment in 2015, Amelia Stanko understands better how the strategic contracts she works on, as a contracting officer in the Supply Operations Commodities Directorate of DLA Aviation, impact the warfighter.
