POL fuels the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing

332ND AIR EXPEDITIONARY WING — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the U.S. Air Forces Central website — Every time a 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing member flips a light switch or starts a vehicle, the fuel required is a direct result of the efforts of the 332nd Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels flight.

Gas Turbine System Technician (Mechanical) 3rd Class Mackenzie Mattox, from Middletown, Ohio, prepares to inspect JP-5 fuel on the flight deck of the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Chancellorsville (CG 62). Chancellorsville is forward-deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of security and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.

SOUTH CHINA SEA — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Commander of the U.S. 7th Fleet website — Gas turbine systems technicians in the U.S. Navy maintain the engines, lube oils and fuel that keeps the Navy moving.

The 386th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron’s fuels management flight is responsible for supplying approximately 150,000 gallons of fuel a day supporting Operation Inherent Resolve. The POL team works tirelessly to improve fuel efficiency, saving the Defense Logistics Agency and U.S. Air Force time and money. Maintenance upgrades to the fuel distribution structure is currently underway with a plan to redesign the system for effective expeditionary results.
