CCS deputy superintendent to speak at DSCC Black History Month observance

COLUMBUS, Ohio — John Stanford, Ph.D., deputy superintendent of Columbus City Schools, will be the keynote speaker for the Defense Federal Community’s Black History Month observance Feb. 19 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus. Established in 1845, Columbus City Schools is Ohio’s largest school district and serves more than 51,000 students.

Land and Maritime associate named to Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Veterans Services announced the 2019 Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame class in a statement Sept. 26. Army Col. John Dreska is among 20 inductees who will be inducted in November for their post-military service and accomplishments. In addition to his military service, Dreska works for the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime as the division chief for batteries, tires and engines.

Media Advisory: DSCC to honor Borinqueneers, Hispanic community

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Defense Supply Center Columbus will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. in the Operations Center Auditorium. The event is hosted by Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime and will feature keynote speaker Liliana Vasquez, local chapter president of the League of the United Latin American Citizens. Vasquez is an associate attorney with Simakovsky Law, which provides accessible legal services to the Hispanic community, and serves on the board of Proyecto Mariposas.
