DLA leaders, retired military generals discuss culture changes necessary to transformation

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — When people think of the word “transformation,” they automatically assume something is broken. The Defense Logistics Agency’s logistics operations director said that’s not the case with the agency during a panel discussion on “Strategic Insights for DLA’s Futures-Focused Culture” at the McNamara Headquarters Complex Oct. 24.

Maximo Ayala, the lead instructor and chief, Lean Six Sigma training and project management support branch at DLA Troop Support, conducts Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training Oct. 18 in Philadelphia. Students gain analytical skills during the 40-hour course, which they must pass and then complete a continuous process improvement project to earn their Green Belt certification.
