New DLA guidance outlines steps for reducing production lead time

FORT BELVOIR, Virginia — After a multiyear effort improving pre-award contract time, the Defense Logistics Agency is turning its focus to reducing post-award production lead time.

Air Force Maj. Gen. Allan Day, DLA Logistics Operations director, describes how DLA uses automated systems and daily contact with warfighters to forecast future demands July 31 at DLA Industry Day at the McNamara Headquarters Complex on Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
