The life of a uniform: from contracting to customer

PHILADELPHIA — From coordinating with contractors to testing boots on an open flame, the Defense Logistics Agency ensures uniforms meet military customers’ needs and are durable.

Product Test Center brings augmented reality to vendor partners

PHILADELPHIA — The Product Test Center Analytical at Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support introduced augmented reality headsets for the purposes of performing remote inspections for DLA Troop Support Clothing and Textile suppliers during a demonstration on January 9th.

DLA lab tests 3D scanner to inform agency use, improve coordination with partners

PHILADELPHIA — A 3D scanner, delivered to the Defense Logistics Troop Support Product Test Center the week of October 11, is undergoing testing to explore how the technology can improve agency operations. The machine may also help the PTC coordinate with customers, vendors and DLA teammates to better visualize parts and potential defects.

Product Test Lab verifies conformance of COVID-19 supplies, military gear

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — A Defense Logistics Agency laboratory known for burning boots, crushing helmets and ripping combat uniforms is also putting COVID-19 surgical gowns through 25 cycles of wash – all in the name of safety and product conformance.
