DLA Energy establishes new fuel support arrangement with Australia to fortify Pacific readiness

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — The Defense Logistics Agency Energy further solidified its commitment to strengthening allied partnerships by establishing a new fuel support arrangement with the Australian Fuel Capability Branch. Both the DLA Energy Commander Rear Adm. George Bresnihan and Australian Brigadier Mark Baldock, director general of Fuel Capabilities both signed the agreement, which is effective as of Aug. 1, 2026.

DLA Energy Indo-Pacific South-West changes command

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — Navy Cmdr. Justin Gay assumed command of the Defense Logistics Agency Energy Indo-Pacific South-West from Navy Capt. Scott McCarthy during a change of command ceremony held May 15, 2026, at the Sunrise Conference Center on Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. Navy Rear Adm. George Bresnihan, DLA Energy commander, presided over the ceremony.

Defense Logistics Agency Energy hosts its annual Joint Petroleum Week

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — The Defense Logistics Agency Energy hosted the annual Joint Petroleum Week from Feb. 23-27, 2026, at the DLA McNamara Headquarters Complex, bringing together hundreds of military fuel experts from across the Department of War. The week began with two days of classified briefings, followed by the Joint Petroleum Seminar, and concluded with two classified governance meetings.

2025 DLA Energy Acquisition Workforce Symposium

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — Defense Logistics Agency Energy hosted the 2025 DLA Energy Acquisition Workforce Symposium at the McNamara Headquarters Complex, here on June 10-12, 2025. The symposium was a hybrid event which could be attended onsite or virtually. More than 300 professionals attended the event both in person and virtually from San Antonio, Texas, Virginia, and other geographical locations. Although the symposium was hosted by DLA Energy, all DLA employees were welcome to attend the sessions.
