Maintainers Help Aircrews Deliver Bundles of Joy

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the U.S. Pacific Command website — Flying 3 C-130’s thousands of miles daily does not happen without a team of professionals to keep the sleigh in the air. Airmen from the 374th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron work tirelessly around the clock to ensure the aircraft are always mission ready and fully capable.

U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Melvin Ibaretta, the deputy commander of the Air Force Reserve’s 624th Regional Support Group, works with members of the 44th Aerial Port Squadron by grabbing a bag of rice to include in a Christmas bundle during Operation Christmas Drop Dec. 9, 2017, at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. Operation Christmas Drop has been providing critical supplies to 56 Micronesian Islands since 1952. The 44th Aerial Port Squadron supports the 624th Regional Support Group’s mission of providing combat readiness, quality management and peacetime deployments in the Pacific area of responsibility. Reservists Bundle Christmas Joy for Remote Islanders

Building bundles, checking them twice

Andersen Air Force Base, Guam — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Yokota Air Base website — Once a year islanders throughout the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas, Federated States of Micronesia, and Republic of Palau will see bundles parachute out the back of multiple planes to provide them with essential supplies that are necessary for their daily lives. Airmen started building 10 practice bundles and 140 supply bundles for the 66th Operation Christmas Drop at Anderson Air Force Base, Guam, Dec. 7, 2017.

Operation Christmas Drop volunteers pack boxes Dec. 3, 2016, at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. Over 200 volunteers packed clothes, rice, fish hooks, school supplies and more to be dropped over 50 islands throughout the Pacific.
