DPAA official talks challenges, progress in accounting for America’s missing

The Defense Federal Community commemorated Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Recognition Day Sept. 21 at the Defense Supply Center Columbus. Since 1986, the third Friday in September is set aside to remember those taken prisoner or reported missing in America’s conflicts. This year’s featured speaker was Jack Kull, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency’s Strategic Coordinator for Southeast Asia.

Defense Supply Center Columbus is hosting a POW/MIA event in the Operations Center Auditorium Sept. 21. Guest speaker Strategic International Coordinator (Southeast Asia) at the Defense Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Accounting Agency Jack Kull will speak on current operations in Asia and around the world. He will also show a video explaining more about DPAA.

In honor of America’s Missing in Action and Prisoners of War, DLA Distribution hosted a Missing Man Table and Honors Ceremony. The ceremony, held Sept. 28 at DLA Distribution Headquarters in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, served to remind attendees that those missing are still present in spirit.
