Contract oversight visit brings former sailor back aboard

Erik Rundquist, a contracting officer with Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services, recently traveled to Japan to coordinate the award of a regional hazardous materials removal contract. The trip provided Rundquist a chance to put his military service into perspective, as he once served as a U.S. Navy sailor for three years aboard USS Warrior (MCM-10) and had the opportunity to go back aboard the ship in Sasebo. Erik shared some of his personal thoughts on the visit.

SkillBridge Program: Service member gains experience with DLA Energy Quality Technical Directorate

Air Force Master Sgt. Matthew Nichols participated in a Department of Defense SkillBridge program with the Defense Logistics Agency Energy Quality Technical Directorate at Fort Belvoir, Va, from May to September 2025. Nichols was one of two first-time participants selected for the five-month fellowship at DLA Energy.

World War II veteran of Normandy Omaha beach landing receives medals

In a small church nestled in a quiet Atlanta, Ga. suburb, DLA Distribution commander Army Brig. Gen. Richard Dix and Deputy Commanding General, National Guard Army Brig. Gen. John King, presented a World War II veteran, Army Sgt. Earnest Felton Jett, Sr. with over a dozen medals and badges including the French A Ses Liberateurs Medal, Normandy, D-Day Comm, Belgium Comm, American Campaign, Transportation Medal, Driving Badge, Qualification Badge with bars, Infantry Badge, Belgium Fouraguerre, and French Fouraguerre.
