Commentary: Foreign military sales reflect national policy, expand customer base

FORT BELVOIR, Va. — DLA has long provided goods and services to allied nations. From NATO cataloging in the 1960s to today’s worldwide crises, the agency has used the Foreign Military Sales program to advance national policy and realize economies of scale.

DLA helps educate Omani vendors on DoD contracting processes, opportunities

The Defense Logistics Agency joined the U.S. Embassy in Oman, U.S. Central Command and 40 Omani company representatives in the sultanate’s first ever defense-contracting workshop May 14-15 in the capital city of Muscat.

DLA joins Air Force, Army to test skills in expeditionary logistics

Amedee Army Airfield, California — A group of 10 DLA personnel joined 125 airmen and 50 soldiers to test their expeditionary-logistics skills in the latest Turbo Distribution exercise.

DLA employee receives Canadian Meritorious Service Medal

Washington, DC — DLA’s Eugene Shearer received Canada’s Meritorious Service Medal on Dec. 15 for his contributions as chief of the Combined Joint Logistics Branch of Regional Command South, Afghanistan, in 2010 and 2011, while serving as a colonel in the U.S. Army.
