Logistics Center in Yokosuka Completes Three-Year Pipeline Project

Marines test system to expand fuel capabilities

JOINT BASE CHARLESTON, S.C. — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Joint Base Charleston website — A technical demonstration of the expeditionary Mobile Fuel Additization Capability was successfully completed at the Charleston Defense Fuel Supply Point by Marines and Soldiers from various bases Dec. 4-7, 2018 with the support of Joint Base Charleston.

The historic Defense Fuel Support Point Yorktown fuel terminal in Virginia has 10 underground tanks used to store F24 and JP8 jet fuel. The cut-and-cover tanks, built in 1953, were demolished in 2015 along with the removal of pier piping and equipment. Soil testing and surveys will be conducted at DFSP Yorktown to prepare the land for future use.

Team March transfers surplus to community

August 20, 2016 — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the March Air Reserve Base website — Team March joined members of Congress, Air Force and city of Norwalk leaders, and community residents to celebrate the transfer of 15 acres of an old defense fuels property owned by March Air Reserve Base to the city of Norwalk, California.

An F-35B Lightning II, with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 121 “Green Knights,” refuels on the flight line aboard Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona, Aug. 18. The Lightning II is scheduled to show off its capabilities during demonstrations at the 2014 Miramar Air Show, Oct. 3-5.
