Tank Truck Offload Facility gives more readiness to JBER

JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska — Logistics In Action: Article originally appeared on the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson website — The 673d Logistics Readiness Squadron tested a tanker truck offload facility at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, July 25, 2019.

A contract carrier is being fueled at the Fort Wainwright aviation fuel facility after delivering 120 fire fighters from North Carolina and Virginia to help fight fires in interior Alaska. The Fort Wainwright aviation fuel facility is one of nine different bases throughout Alaska that DLA Energy Pacific supplies fuel to on a monthly basis.

Jet fuel demand soars for Alaska firefighting operations

FORT WAINWRIGHT, Alaska — A record-breaking fire season in Alaska is increasing demands for cold weather jet fuel supplied by Defense Logistics Agency Energy Pacific at Alaska to support firefighting operations.
