Troop Support commander visits Air Force customers, recruit support vendors in Texas

PHILADELPHIA — Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Commander Army Brig. Gen. Eric P. Shirley visited Air Force customers and clothing and textiles vendors in San Antonio and Austin, Texas, Feb. 3-4 to better understand challenges and strengthen partnerships with stakeholders in the region.

C&T helps modernize Coast Guard recruit training center in Cape May

PHILADELPHIA — More than 100 U.S. Coast Guard recruits received initial issue uniform items under the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support’s new item management process Nov. 2 at USCG Training Center Cape May, New Jersey.

Clothing and Textiles team provides cloth face masks to Army recruits

PHILADELPHIA — DLA Troop Support Clothing and Textiles provided nearly 16,000 operational camouflage pattern face masks to Army recruit training centers across the country, in time for initial uniform issuance March 1.

DLA Troop Support’s Clothing and Textiles supply chain provided about 10,000 sets of improved hot-weather combat uniform, or IHWCU, coats and trousers to recruit training centers across the country by Oct. 21, 2020.

Army recruits receive American-made athletic footwear at basic training for first time

PHILADEPHIA — Approximately 134 Army recruits received American-made athletic footwear at Ft. Benning, Georgia Oct. 1, thanks to Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support. Recruits at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri also received athletic footwear this week, with recruits at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina and Ft. Sill, Oklahoma to receive the new shoes starting Oct. 7.

DLA provides the food that fuels Marines

Parris Island, South Carolina — Food is the fuel that helps Marine recruits and careerists stay healthy for the demands of rigorous training and combat operations throughout their career.

DLA Troop Support Clothing and Textiles’ Type III Navy Working Uniform Planning Team won DLA’s Team of the Year Award for their support of the Navy’s latest utility uniform transition. The cross-functional team met weekly to meet the Navy’s requirements, including an accelerated timeline and 400 distinct items encompassing varying sizes of five uniform items.

C&T works ‘hand in glove’ to earn DLA Troop Support Team of the Year award

PHILADELPHIA — When the Navy announced it was changing sailors’ utility uniforms in 2016, a planning team from the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support Clothing and Textiles supply chain geared up a plan for sustainment.
