Distribution Headquarters honors past deputy with newly named Campbell Conference Room

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pa. — On Tuesday, March 6, 2018, DLA Distribution commanding general, Army Brig. Gen. John S. Laskodi dedicated the command conference room to a DLA Distribution legend Phyllis C. Campbell, Senior Executive Service.

The depot as it looked from 1953 until the mid-1980’s. The row of four warehouses in the top right were known as the “Golden Mile” and built at the end of the Korean War.

Budget, cost-saving approaches discussed at DLA Cost Summit

FORT Belvoir, Virginia — Senior leaders from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Defense Logistics Agency and the military services discussed efficiencies in the DLA budget and ways to deliver value to customers at lower costs during the Cost Summit at the McNamara Headquarters Complex March 7.

A U.S. Air Force F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft assigned to the 555th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron takes off on a combat sortie from Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, Aug. 24. The F-16 is fitted with the F-100 series engine by General Electric, now stored and delivered for select Air Force maintenance customers out of DLA Distribution’s site in Oklahoma City, Okla.

MONROVIA, Liberia — An employee with the federal government for 32 years, travel was very familiar to Wayne Myers. Supporting the customer on site in West Africa, however, was new to him.

Israeli Navy visits DLA Distribution

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Members of the Israeli Navy visited Defense Logistics Agency Distribution headquarters and its largest distribution center in the network, DLA Distribution Susquehanna, Pa., on July 16 to discuss DLA’s global logistics processes and how DLA Distribution supports foreign military sales customers.

Mason Chronister, an administrative assistant within DLA Distribution’s Organization Management/J9 directorate participates in a summer internship via the Workforce Recruitment Program.

Recent college graduate fulfills dream of working for the federal government at DLA Distribution

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Working for the federal government has long been the dream of recent college graduate Mason Chronister. Thanks to DLA’s participation in the Department of Labor’s Workforce Recruitment Program, or WRP, he has been able to reach that goal.

Distribution’s aide-de-camp receives Defense Meritorious Service Medal

NEW CUMBERLAND, Pennsylvania — Army Capt. Domonick Sylve, aide-de-camp to the Defense Logistics Agency Distribution commander, was awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal on July 9 for his skillful planning and managing of the day-to-day mission requirements of the commanding general of DLA Distribution, Army Brig. Gen. Richard Dix.
