FORT BELVOIR, Va. — Military medical teams that augmented U.S. hospital staffs providing COVID-19 care had commercial lodging, food, laundry support and more with help from the Defense Logistics Agency mid-March through May.

Acquisition specialist embraces industry connection with Caterpillar Defense

Peoria, Illinois — Defense Logistics Agency acquisition professionals like Lynn Thompson are engaging with and learning from industry partners through the Defense Department’s Training with Industry Program.

Expeditionary contracting officers wanted

The Defense Logistics Agency relies heavily on those in the contracting series to provide acquisition services and contract support to assist the agency’s military and civilian partners around the world. To meet its goal of 40 qualified contracting officers, the Joint Contingency Acquisition Support Office is recruiting members for its Expeditionary Contracting Cadre.

Operational contract support planners discuss progress, way ahead

Operational contract support planners from the Defense Logistics Agency, the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Joint Staff logistics directorate met April 26-28 in Springfield, Virginia, to share best practices for operational contract support and reinforce the need for a joint-service approach.

New contingency contracting officers readying for possible deployment

Fort Belvoir, Virginia — A new group of contingency contracting officers is preparing to be among the first to deploy and provide expeditionary contracting support during the initial stages of future disaster and contingency operations.
